British soul singer and songwriter JOSS STONE was only 17 when her first album THE SOUL SESSIONS went multi-platinum. Since then the Grammy-winning artist has sold 14 million albums. Her enormous, gritty voice and creative songwriting has made her one of the most successful British soul artists of all time.
In addition to her prolific musical career, STONE branched out as a Gap model in 2005, then added acting to her resume in 2006 in the fantasy movie Eragon, then in 2009 appearing as Anne of Cleves on the Showtime series The Tudors.
STONE’S most recent album WATER FOR YOUR SOUL demonstrates how the teen soul prodigy has blossomed into an artist of style and substance. The four-year project, assisted and inspired by Jamaican superstar Damien Marley, is drenched in reggae and draws in elements of hip hop and world music while staying true to Stone’s emotional R&B roots. “It’s really a combination of all the things I like,” Stone explained. Since the album’s release she has undertaken the unique Total World Tour with the ambitious goal of playing every nation on the globe.
