Vanessa Collier has made serious waves in the music world since she graduated from the presitgious Berkelee College of Music in 2013. She has already racked up three Blues Music Award Nominations (BMAs), a Blues Blast Award nomination, the Jammingest Pro Award bestowed by the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise, First Place for lyrics in the International Songwriting Competition, and a Best of 2014 Blues Breaker award on Dan Aykroyd’s BluesMobile. She also managed to squeeze in two years touring with Joe Louis Walker before striking out on her own. Perhaps Buddy Guy said it best; after Vanessa sat in with him, Buddy Guy announced "she was amazing!"

Roy Rogers is well-known as one of the world’s premier slide guitarists. His recorded output is extensive – for both solo recordings and those with others including Ray Manzarek and Norton Buffalo. He is also known for his work as producer for the great bluesman John Lee Hooker. Roy is also credited for playing on numerous soundtracks for both TV and film. Carlos Reyes is renowned for his musical mastery, not only on the violin, but for the stringed harp as well. Breaking down barriers at an early age, he continues to ‘break them down’, touring worldwide in a variety of musical settings and making his own recordings as well. Classically trained, he has performed and recorded with an incredible array of artists and in different formats – from Arturo Sandoval to Steve Miller and from solo to full orchestra.

Reggie Houston is more than a Portland blues musician, he's a state treasure. During his long and storied career he has worked with Irma Thomas, appeared on three Peter Gabrielle albums, played for Fats Domino for 22 years and was the baritone sax player for Dr. John, and recorded with the Neville Brotheres, Joan Osborne, and Brruce Hornsby, to name just a few. His musical credentials are nearly endless, but so are his credentials as an educator and community servant. Since coming to Portland he has served on the Regional Arts and Culture Council Music Panel, helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for Hurricane Katrina survivors, and was one of the teachers who helped prepare The American Music Program for a 1st Place win in 2015 out of 88 bands in the Essentially Ellington competition.

Their sound is heavily influenced by both modern and traditional brass bands including Young Blood Brass Band and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. Rose City Kings is a well respected musical ensemble in the Pacific Northwest. They have performed many times at the Waterfront Blues Festival and at premier West Coast Blues venues such as Biscuit & Blues in San Francisco, Cafe Boogaloo in Los Angeles and Seattle's legendary and lamented Highway 99 Blues Club. Rose City Kings has received Real Blues Magazine’s awards for Best Pacific Northwest Blues Band and Best West Coast Blues/Rock Band, as well as Cascade Blues Association’s Muddy Award winner for Best Contemporary Act Best New Act; and were finalists for Best Contemporary Act. Appearing with them is Travis "Moonchild" Haddix. Travis was born in 1938 in Hatchie Bottom, Mississippi to a family of sharecroppers, and he earned the nickname “Moonchild” from his beaming presence on stage. Travis has written over 500 songs and recorded 32 albums and CDs. Travis has received rave reviews in Living Blues Magazine, Blues Revue, Real Blues, and many others, and he has toured throughout the United States and Europe.

Karl Denson is known for many things, including serving as the touring saxophonist for the Roling Stones, and for being a founding member of of semonal funk band The Greyboy Allstars. He is also known for putting on one of the best shows on earth with Karl Denson's Tiny Universe. His most recent album, Gnomes and Badgers, features the long-established seven-piece band with guests including Allman Brother's alum Chuck Leavell, Ivan Neville, and Lukas Nelson, among others. Karl Denson's energy and spirit are contagious while his songwriting serves a larger message of fellowship—across generations, genders, religions and cultures.

Lafayette, La. expatriate keyboardist Steve Kerin, and the Bayou Boys serve up New Orleans funk and R&B; Blues Award-winning saxophonist Terry Hanck and his seamless band cover everything from Fats Domino to Junior Walker. On the upper deck Portland’s BrassRoots Movement hold court with Crescent City brass band classics.

Fuefollet (foo-follet) means "crazy fire" in French, and in Lousiana, it means the lights that flicker over the swamps at night. For more than 20 years, since some of them were young children, this innovative group of Lousiana musicians has been reinventing that musical fire that has lit up the bayous nights for generations. While deeply steeped in the Cajun traditions of the music they play, which comes through in every note, they introduce new ideas and textures, leading the New York Times to call the Grammy-nominated band "radical in the studio," and to add that "Feufollet’s innovations only bring out the ache and gumption of its music."

Youthful multi-instrumentalist “Lil’ Pookie” was born into a talented musical family on the outskirts of Opelousas, Louisiana, in the tiny rural community of Frilot Cove. His grandfather was Delton Broussard, leader of the legendary Lawtell Playboys, while three of his uncles were founding members of the popular Zydeco Force band. Pookie inherited all that talent, learning accordian, bass, guitar, drums, and rubboard, as well as writing clever, original music that led SING OUT Magazine to exclaim that he is "in the zone, and then some!"

For more than 20 years, since some of them were young children, this innovative group of Lousiana musicians has been reinventing that musical fire that has lit up the bayous nights for generations. While deeply steeped in the Cajun traditions of the music they play, which comes through in every note, they introduce new ideas and textures, leading the New York Times to call the Grammy-nominated band "radical in the studio," and to add that "Feufollet’s innovations only bring out the ache and gumption of its music."

New Orleans Mardi Gras Indian crews are a longstanding Mardi Gras tradition that has now build a home in Portland with the Northwest Skull and Bones Gang. Founded by a flagbearer from a revered New Orleans crew who came to Portland following Katrina, Northwest Skull and Bone Gang is now in its 15th year.
