Oregon Food Bank values your participation and support and is committed to protecting your privacy. OFB's Waterfront Blues Festival Web site (www.waterfrontbluesfest.com) is a safe environment for anyone who visits, makes a donation, places an order, volunteers or signs up to receive an electronic newsletter.

Oregon Food Bank maintains strict customer information privacy policies. OFB takes great care to ensure that your information is not compromised by unauthorized persons.

Oregon Food Bank does not sell, exchange or rent your personal information to any organization or individual. Oregon Food Bank will not divulge personal information to any other organization or individual other than that necessary to transact, fulfill and or account for online donations and purchases.

Oregon Food Bank does not share your information with telemarketing centers. Oregon Food Bank does not use telephone marketing to solicit funds. Oregon Food Bank will only use your phone number if we need to verify information or occasionally to thank you for your contribution, ask for your opinion or invite you to a special event.

What information do we collect?

When you make a donation, volunteer, order a product, sign up for an electronic newsletter, Oregon Food Bank may ask you for your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, fax number as well as other relevant information (e.g. hours available to volunteer or size of T-shirt).

When you visit OFB’s Waterfront Blues Festival Web site, OFB also collects some nonidentifying basic information from server logs. This includes total number of visitors, pages viewed, type of browser you are using (e.g., Netscape, Internet Explorer), type of operating system you are using (e.g. Mac OS or Windows 2000), domain name of your Internet service provider (e.g., America Online, Earthlink) and frequently used search words.

How do we use your information?

Oregon Food Bank uses nonidentifying basic information (aggregate data) to analyze site usage and to improve the content and design of the site. On occasion, OFB may share aggregate data with sponsors, partners and other third-party vendors to encourage fund-raising.

Oregon Food Bank uses personally identifiable information you provide about yourself: a) to respond to your questions or comments about OFB services, b) to fulfill requests to receive an electronic newsletter updates about the blues festival, c) to volunteer, d) to process your donation, verify your credit card and send you a tax-deductible receipt e) to process your order for merchandise and verify your credit card; f) to confirm a donation or order; g) to thank you; h) to send you additional information about OFB programs, services and needs that we believe will interest you; i) to protect the security or integrity of the site; j) to protect against a threat of safety or destruction of property; and k) to protect against legal liability. We list donors who contribute $500 or more in our annual report unless you ask that the gift be anonymous.

OFB may disclose to third parties aggregate statistics about donations, volunteers, orders and advocates (e.g., total number of donors, total amount of donations for specific periods, average gift size, total number of volunteers for specific projects or events, total number of advocates). These statistics will not include any personally identifying information.

A third party handles OFB's on-line credit card verification process. This organization needs your name, address, credit card number and expiration date to process your transaction. Its state-of-the-art firewalls and encryption technology offer the highest level of security to ensure the confidentiality of your transaction.

OFB also hires a third party to distribute electronic newsletters. This organization manages the information you give us when you sign up to receive an electronic newsletter. This third party maintains strict privacy standards and does not sell, rent or exchange your information

Oregon Food Bank will not use personal information in any way other than described in this policy. Oregon Food Bank requires employees, agents and contractors who have access to Personal Information to protect information consistent with this Privacy Policy.

Opt out

If you prefer not to receive any mail or e-mail correspondence from us, please send us your request to be removed from mailing lists with your full name, address, phone number and e-mail address. Send your request to Oregon Food Bank, P.O. Box 55370, Portland, OR 97238-5370. Or call 503-282-0555. To help us process your request, tell us how you participate (volunteer, donate, advocate). If you sign up to receive an electronic newsletter, you can opt out by clicking “unsubscribe” at the bottom of the newsletter.

How do we provide a secure environment for on-line transactions?

Oregon Food Bank's on-line processing system allows you to make safe donations and purchases. OFB uses state-of-the-art firewalls and the latest encryption technology, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to insure that no one can read your information as it travels to OFB's donation or ordering system.

On-line forms to volunteer, to advocate or to sign-up to be on a mailing list, are not encrypted.

Cookies

Oregon Food Bank does not use cookies on its Web sites.

No liability

The security measures we take may not prevent all loss, misuse or alteration of information on the site. Oregon Food Bank is not responsible for any damages or liabilities relating to such security failures. You understand that unauthorized third parties may access data and communications, including e-mail, when communicated via the Internet. OFB's Web site includes links to other Web sites. OFB cannot ensure the privacy practices of other such sites.
