Here’s how to apply for the
22nd annual Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival
July 2 to July 5, 2009

If you are interested in performing at the 2009 Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival, submit your application by Feb. 15, 2009, to the address below. Include your biography, photograph and CD. Because of volume of applications, we are unable to return submission materials.
Electronic press kits: We also accept electronic press kits online through Sonicbids. If you are not yet a Sonicbids member and want to submit online, visit www.sonicbids.com/waterfrontbluesfest and sign up for the Sonicbids Combo Package (includes your submission and a discounted Sonicbids membership). If you are already a Sonicbids member, log on to your account and visit the Promoter Drop Box to submit.

Out-of-Region Acts: Competition is fierce for the few slots reserved for out-of-region artists who are unknown in the Portland market. Promotion packets arrive daily from bands across the United States, Canada and Europe. If we have an appropriate slot, we will contact you. Keep in mind that our budget is limited.

Regional Acts: We are looking for unusual collaborations, showcases and all-star lineups, rather than discrete, established bands who appear regularly in area venues. Artists with creative proposals may contact us at the numbers below.

The festival is the major annual fund-raiser for Oregon Food Bank, a nonprofit, hunger-relief organization serving Oregon and Clark County, Wash. One-hundred percent of admission—a daily donation of $10 and two cans of food—goes to Oregon Food Bank.

A group of generous and committed sponsors, including Safeway, First Tech Credit Union, iQ Credit Union, The Oregonian A&E, KINK-fm102, FedEx Freight, FedEx Kinkos, DaimlerChrysler Truck Financial, Good Neighbor Pharmacy, Delta Music Experience and Land Rover Portland underwrites production and talent costs.

Thanks for helping to make this one of the nation's great blues events!
