UNITED BY MUSIC NORTH AMERICA ALL STAR BAND & FRIENDS

Presented by Delta Music Experience

United by Music kicks off its fifth consecutive appearance at Waterfront Blues Festival at noon on July 4 with the exceptional vocalist Marlana VanHoose, the young Mississippi guitar virtuoso Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and the UBMNA’s ISing choir joining forces on the National Anthem.

They will then be joined by the UBMNA All-Star Band & Friends! Which festival friends will be performing with United By Music North America? You never know! Its past collaborator/mentors have included such blues stars as Candye Kane, Shemekia Copeland, John Nemeth, Kenny Neal, Janiva Magness, Curley Taylor, Chubby Carrier, Tommy Castro, Honeyboy Edwards, Cedric Burnside, Vasti Jackson, Lisa Mann, Karen Lovely, Ben Rice, Dave Fleschner, Louis Pain, and Tony TC Coleman.

“It fuels my soul, like nothing we have ever experienced!” say these and other musicians from all over the world who share the stage and perform with UBMNA, offer musical support and become life-long UBMNA mentors for these amazing artists.

"Experience a connection fueled by soul-enriching joy and heart-warming happiness on a level only music can provide,” says Amanda Gresham, UBMNA Producing Artistic Director.

"When the UBMNA Band plays music I see music be what it should be, I see music achieve its potential.”  - Polly O’Keary - UBMNA Mentors

“What blew my mind is the genuine talent, those kids are great, they are right there, it was real, it was real, that is what music is about, its about emotion and its about being real, it is not about being flawless, those kids have soul, have energy and it is real and its awesome!” Jeff Jensen - Professional Musician

“These musicians, who would otherwise struggle [off stage] are absolutely equal [on stage] and in some cases superior to the professional musicians who are playing with them. When I saw these young musicians perform, they were both healing themselves and healing me through their performances …. there is something more going on than performance-of-music, there is soul-to-soul communication!" - Bruce Iglauer, President & Founder, Alligator Records
