AC PORTER & THE LIVE WIRES W/ STAN STREET

AC PORTER has been playing blues guitar since the early 80’s, cutting his teeth at jams in Eugene at the notorious Old Taylor’s Tavern and Good Times Bar, and playing in bands as a sideman with diehard Northwest Blues cats such as Bill Rhoades and The Partykings, Jim Wallace, etc, over many years. He has sat-in and played with heavyweights such as Little Charlie and the Nightcats, and Jr. Watson, who stated ‘AC sounds like a million bucks’ a few years back. He appears on Jimi Bott’s CD, ‘Bott and Paid For’, and is in the planning stages of putting out his own CD with his own band, AC AND THE LIVEWIRES. Whit Draper on guitar, Johnny Moore on drums, and Timmer Blakely round out the current band line-up, with an emphasis on original songs, and many a ‘nod’ toward classic guitar-driven blues by artists such as Albert Collins, Magic Sam, and the “three Kings” (BB, Albert, Freddie).

Joining the group on the Front Porch Stage opening day will be Mississippi-based harmonica ace Stan Street (for more on Stan, see his bio page).
