Lady "A"

Lady “A”

Biography

Presented by Ilani Resort

Seattle’s Lady “A” is known for her high-energy, Tina Turner-esque shows which have earned her the moniker, “The Northwest’s Hardest Workin’ Woman in Blues, Soul, Funk & Gospel.” This husky, sultry-voiced vixen mesmerizes audiences with her brand of blues from Seattle to Portland, Memphis to Mississippi…

LADY “A”’s fourth and latest CD, Loved, Blessed & Blues, garnered rave reviews in the U.S and abroad. Her current project, Doin’ Fine, to be released in June 2018, features “songs of hope and reality,” providing dance grooves while giving listeners, she says, “something to think on.”

She also hosts “Lady ‘A’s Gumbo & Gospel” and “Black N Blues” shows on NWCZ internet radio station.

Though born in Seattle, Lady “A” clearly channels her Louisiana roots as a multi-faceted blues, soul, funk, jazz and gospel artist. “I’m not one genre of music,” she says. “I love it all and convey it through my own style.”

Touring Europe and forging her own path in the music world, the Lady makes it happen every time she hits the stage. She’s done so as an opener for such blues and soul legends as Denise LaSalle, Little Milton, Shemekia Copeland, and Dr. John; as a touring partner with Bobby Rush, Eden Brent, Dexter Allen, Super Chikan, Waylon Thibodeaux, Charles and Charmaine Neville; and as a special guest with Michael Burks, Kenny Neal, The Lee Boys, Janiva Magness, and Howlin Mad “Bill” Perry.

“When the audience walks away as tired, thrilled, inspired and happy as I am when I leave the stage, then the music has done its job!”  #MusicIsLife

Her production company, Lady A Productions, has brought a number of Southern blues and soul artists to the Northwest, including guitarist and Deep Rush Records Recording Artist, Dexter Allen; and Grammy winner, Bobby Rush. Her Annual Red & White Affair helps feed/clothe the homeless for the Nurture Foundation and E-mode Foundation, and her Back Porch Blues Showcase brings an array of blues, soul and jazz artists, along with young up and comers, to the stage to share their stories, unplugged and unrehearsed. “Lady A Productions aims,” she says, “to inspire, encourage and spread love through experience and music.”
