Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble

Day 01

Main Stage

2:00 PM

Steeped in Louisiana Blues, Soul and Zydeco, Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble’s deep grooves and driving rhythms create a high-energy brew that can make any audience dance. Curley blends his brilliantly soulful vocals with music that remains true to its Louisiana Zydeco roots, while making it fresh and contemporary in a way that appeals to a broad range of music lovers.

Curley, a Louisiana native born into a musical family, started out playing drums in his father’s band, Jude Taylor and the Burning Flames, and went on to play with some of Louisiana’s musical legends like CC Adcock, Steve Riley, John Hart, L’il Bob and the Lollipops, and his uncles, L’il Buck Senegal and Wayne “Blue” Burns.  He toured internationally with CJ Chenier (son of the “King of Zydeco” Clifton Chenier, and a Zydeco legend in his own right) and Geno Delafose & French Rockin’ Boogie before striking out on his own in 2003. His debut album, Country Boy, was released that same year to rave reviews.

With seven CDs of original music, Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble plays their own style of Zydeco, infused with old-school R&B, Blues and Southern Soul. The band tours extensively and plays festivals and clubs throughout the US, often to audiences who’ve never before heard Zydeco music. But no matter, when Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble are in the house, that house will be rockin’.
